I am not arguing that the state of law enforcement for alcohol abuse is adequate. I am stating that the state of public smoking laws is inadequate. Alcohol is a precedent in that there are laws to restrict the way it can be used. It is time to do the same for cigarrettes. It does not follow that since alcohol laws are not perfect that smoking laws should not be imposed, yet, that appears to be your argument.

NOBODY is telling smokers to quit smoking with the pbutting of the public smoking ban. NOBODY. The increased cigarrette tax is another thing altogether and I am complete against this tax (against all sin taxes actually ... that is what started the Boston Tea Party so long ago).
Again, I don't care who smokes or who doesn't. I just care that I don't have to breath it and that smokers are imposing their habit on others in publically available establishments.
The problem here is ALL places have smokers. Non-smokers can not go anywhere and avoid breathing the polution of the minority.
Create a private club and invite only smokers or non-smokers willing to join. Then you can drink and smoke all you want. The sign of the times.
