As the old saying goes, "The law is an butt, but it is a *logical* butt". The logic at work here is that you cannot convict a defendant on evidence that is weaker than similar evidence presented in another, similar case where that defendant was acquitted. And evidence in this case was very weak - not sufficient to support a verdict of "guilty".

If you're going to lie about what I said, at least have sufficient wits about you to delete what you are lying about. The original author claimed that the ID&E procedure involves smashing the fetus' head. That is a lie, and pointing out the lie IS a relevant distinction.
