Nice try, but in the article you reference Rush wasn't demanding that drug abusers be sent to jail, which was your misbegotten buttertion. No cigar. What it boils down to is that you hate Rush Limbaugh and are willing to go to any length to smear and slander him. I don't have much opinion on Rush Limbaugh since I don't listen to his program (I don't think it's aired where I live) and know little about him, but, have sense enough to face reality and admit the following: 1. Rush Limbaugh is the most successful talk show host in the history of radio. Period. 2. Rush Limbaugh has 20 million followers and is immensely influential regarding politcal matters. 3. Rush Limbaugh recently signed a 10 year contract awarding him $300 million dollars or $30 million per year for the next ten years. 4. People don't hand out that kind of cash unless the person is immensely successful and has an incredible number of listeners. 5. Limbaugh's current problems with drug abuse aren't going to hinder him one little bit other than he is going to get an unplanned vacation or a month of sick leave as is the case with many people who encounter medical problems in their lives. 6. The current smear campaign of his detractors isn't going to influence his followers in the least, in fact it may make them even more supportive since Americans disdain slanderers and tend to champion underdogs. 7. Rush didn't sway people or persuade them to his point of view, he said things that people already agreed with and so they will by loyal followers because they find his messages interesting, not because a bunch of malcontented Rush-haters have mounted an all out offensive against the messenger they hate and others find useful. 8. The only people moved by the hysterical hate-mongering are the people who were already detractors of Rush Limbaugh. 9. Rush isn't going to go to jail. 10. Other celebrities have had drug problems and haven't gone to jail and Rush will be no exception. So spare us the melodrama and find a cause where your efforts might be consequential.
