Guiliani also tried to stifle civil liberties -- he raised a huge fuss when one of our respected museums showed a painting he did not like for religious reasons. Yet at the same time he was running around town with his mistress while his wife was still in the Mayor's Mansion. He is quite a hypocrite, demanding an annulment of his first marriage from the Catholic church. He cheated on that wife also, in fact was known as a real woman chaser throughout his career. He had an affair with one of his top level employees in city government as well.
I don't think he'll get far in national politics. He has a very short fuse and when crossed can be positively vicious.
What's more Guiliani now is praising Bush for all the aid he offered.
